Xdebug 2.0.4

I just released Xdebug 2.0.4 which addresses bugs from the Xdebug 2.0 branch, including bug fixes related to crashes on Vista. You can get Xdebug through PECL (pecl install xdebug) or from the Xdebug site. Windows binaries will be made available later.

Thanks

I can't wait for Win32 version any longer :D

The former XDebug version causes Apache 2.2.x crash when a var_dump() is called on an array. It is rather annoying so I need to use print_r() instead of var_dump()

This is a tool that I use almost daily without even thinking about it which only means it's quality stuff.

Thank you for that, have a good year! :)

2.0.4 still crashing Apache a lot on Vista Business 32. Every 2-3 requests, actually. Apache 2.2.11, PHP 5.2.8

I think the problem with Vista crashes are not due only to XDebug but to PHP module in apache (php5apacheX_X.dll) with relation to the debugger.

I had the same problem with WAMP under Vista with both XDebug and ZendDebug.

But when I changer http.conf in a way to use php-cgi.exe instead php5apache2_2.dll, everything became fine.

Actually, using PHP-CGI.exe slows down the performance of PHP dramatically. It broke all of my Ajax functionality I had on my site.

It would be nice if Xdebug could work under Vista without having to switch to using PHP-CGI.exe

I can only assume it's still a memory issue since the php_xxx_dll stays resident while PHP-CGI.exe gets called (freshly) every time a PHP script needs to run.
