Vote Against Software Patents
The European Union is currently running an internet poll for the "European of the Year". The folks at No Software Patents give you a suggestion how to vote if you're caring about (or actually against) Software patents. Florian Mueller (who is leading the effort) is one of the candidates, and a strong vote for him might elevate the issue of software patents to the level of awareness that other major political topics enjoy.

I saw that you have a page that discusses patent-related resources at http://derickrethans.nl/vote_against_software_patents.php. I wanted to suggest adding www.freepatentsonline.com to the page. This web site has free PDF downloading (instead of having to page through TIFFs like at the US PTO). It is by far the best free patent searching site.

I've finished reading This Way Up. It's about maps, that went wrong.
It's a good read, but htyerr were several chapters that were written in a novel way (as a video transcript, a series of letters), and I found distracting from the a tail content. It'll have worked better in a produced video.
No mention of @openstreetmap though :-(

The Early Cormorant Catches the Eel
