PHP Quebec/Performance Workshop

Thursday, March 31st 2005, 10:57 EST

Montréal, Canada

While driving back from Mont Sainte Anne, where Marcus spend two days skiing (more about that later), Damien from PHP Quèbec asked us to do a 3 hour workshop on PHP and Performance because another speaker was apperently not going to be in time. Slides for this presentation are as usual on the talks page , and Marcus has extra slides here .

Hi,

Your slide http://talks.php.net/show/performance-workshop/11 is incorrect because of a caching bug in Squid you will probably be unaware of.

http://www.squid-cache.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=7

Hence, an orgin server always has to return a fresh document 200 OK, never a 304 Not Modified.

Brown Hare
Altough we were looking for birds, we couldn't not observe this lovely hare munching away in the grass. It had clearly seen us, but didn't seem to be bothered.
