London Conference
Last Friday I spoke at the PHP UK Conference in London on the eZ components . (Presentation slides as as usual on the talks page). I enjoyed this conference, which was organized by the PHP London User Group . This was their first conference, and the organizers did an excellent job. I always enjoy going to a conference for users (as opposed to business conferences) so much more.
Harry Fuecks had an interesting session on Ajax and Latency where he describes that Ajax frameworks need to come a long way before they are really usable. I can not agree more with the points that he made.

Life Line
It's been an interesting day.
Besides fixing up PECL, I have mostly dealt with journalists.
Half an hour phone chat with the Dutch NOS nieuws, and a 4 minute item for tonight's NOS Journaal (in 5 minutes).
And then a live interview for the international feed of BBC News.

Okay, I think I fixed the PECL load situation.
Everything is now cached.
It means nobody can upload any new versions as you can't log in, but at least the server is not dying now.
It is deprecated, so this temporary measure is good enough for now.
